ROSWELL, GA - Lynda Stewart Anderson, age 71 of Roswell, Ga., died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009. She was the daughter of the late E.L. Stewart and Lucille Smith Stewart. A graduate of LaFayette High School, LaFayette, Ala., class of '56. She graduated from Auburn University December 1960 with a degree in Textile Engineering. A feature writer for the St. Petersburg Times, Birmingham News and the Atlanta Journal Constitution. She retired from Towers, Perrin, Foster, and Crosby in 2000. Survived by her husband of 44 years, Tom T. Anderson of Roswell and Lake Rabun, Ga.; brother, Randall Stewart of Talladega; sister, Carolyn Stewart Hill of Alpine; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lovelady Center, 9716 2nd Ave. S., Birmingham, AL 35206 (a center for abused women, contact Vanetta Young). Lynda had a great love for family, and delighted in playing bridge with friends, participating in Book Clubs, and playing numbers games and puzzles.
