Mrs. -Joann Wall, spouse of Jack Wall, daughter of Peter-Fleming and Willa-Bell, mother of Joan Wall, Jack, Jr and Pam Wall, died at 81 years old.
SYLVANIA & STILSON, Ga. - Mrs. Joann Martin Wall, age 81, died Friday evening at Syl-View Health Care Center in Sylvania, Georgia following a long illness. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Peter Fleming Martin and Willa Bell Martin. She was a graduate of Stilson High School and also attended Brewton-Parker College. Following her education, Joann returned to Bulloch County and married Jack Osborne Wall, Sr. She was a dedicated homemaker, raising her children as well as caring for her grandchildren and other children throughout the community. She worked for several years with Willingway Hospital in Statesboro. Mrs. Wall was a lifelong member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU and for over 50 years was in charge of the nursery. She had been a resident of Syl-View Health Care Center since 2007.Mrs. Wall was preceded in death by her husband Jack Wall, Sr.; a daughter, Joan Wall Cameron and her sister, Lois Martin Meeks.Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Wall, Jr. and Betsy of McRae and Pete and Gina Kay Starling Wall of Sylvania; a daughter, Pam Wall Rogers of Tarrytown; a son-in-law, Jimmy Cameron of Stilson; her loving grandchildren, Shawn and Sarah Wall, Jerrod and Jenna Wall, Joshua and Chelsea Wall, Kobe Wall, Jamie C. and Frank Fail, Justin and Devon Cameron, Jodie and Chris Deese, Chad and Allison Wall, Todd and Rachel Wall, Star and Clint Sheppard, Paula R. and Max Lewis and Trey Rogers. 16 great grandchildren also survive.Visitation will be Sunday January 5, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Pete Wall officiating, assisted by Rev. Clint Sullens.
