PEMBROKE, Ga. -- Mrs. Grace Helen Waters Pond, age 81, died Monday, January 5, 2015, under the care of Hospice Savannah. Mrs. Pond graduated as valedictorian from Marvin Pittman Laboratory School and worked many years as a social worker in Bulloch County. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Mrs. Pond was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Clinton and Ellen Dale Miller Waters; a daughter, Gerline Laverne Crowley; and brothers, Jack Waters and Thomas Waters.Survivors include sons, Raymond (Inez) Crowley, Douglas, Ga., Glenn (Debbie) Crowley, Ft. Walton, Fla., Charlie (Terri) Crowley, Pooler, Ga., and Johnny Pond, Clito; daughters, Wanda (Kenny) Cobb, Pembroke, and Julie (Shane) Barnard, Pembroke; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Danny Waters, Dorothy Sloan, Hilda Smith, Melba Gibson and Myra Halfacre.
