Mrs. Gloria Dean Washington, age 56, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday morning after an extended illness at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was a Bulloch County native and a member of Hodges Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Johnny Washington of Statesboro, Ga.; three daughters, Mrs. Debra Mikell of Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Shirley Lyons of Statesboro, Ga., and Mrs. Abigal (James) Byrd of Aiken, S.C.; one son, Mr. Arthur Lee Jr. of Statesboro, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Carolyn (Ronald) George and Mrs. Kathryn Golden, both of Twin City, Ga., and Mrs. Jewell LaCue of Statesboro, Ga.; three brothers, Mr. Elijah (Kat) Moody and Mr. Kennedy (Veronica) Moody, both of Twin City, Ga., and Mr. Issac (Laura) Moody of Delray Beach, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 13, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at Hodges Grove Baptist Church, Miller Street Extension, with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. John Harmon as eulogist. Interment will be held in Johnson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Portal, Ga. Family visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009, in the chapel of Craig R.
