Gladys Mathews Hatcher, age 89, of Holt, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009. She was born Nov. 29, 1919 in Holt and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle.She was preceded in death by her son, Marlin A. Mathews; husbands, Alvin Mathews and Henry H. Hatcher.Survivors include her son, Millard Mathews and Helen; five grandchildren, Kimberly and Shannon Miller, Mark and Cathy Mathews, Joe and Miranda Mathews, Dana and Jeff Wilson and Caleb Carruth; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; one sister, Q.V. and Ed Turner; sister-in-law, Ossie Summerlin.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30 in the chapel of Brackney Funeral service with Pastor Larry Batson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Holt Cemetery.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
