Mrs. Geneva Johnson died May 16, 2009, at Ogeechee Area Hospice after a long illness. The Pritchet, Ala., native was a member of the Elm Street Church of God and a retired care giver. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Caleb Johnson, Statesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Brenda (Billy) Howard, Mrs. Bridget (Walter) Campbell and Ms. Cheryl Johnson, all of Statesboro; one son, Mr. Anthony (Stephanie) Rice, Statesboro; one sister, Minister Doris Causey, Statesboro; two brothers, Mr. Adrian (JoAnn) Rice, Jesup, Ga., and Mr. Dwight (Betty) Rice, Atlanta; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Hattie Lokey, Philadelphia, Pa.; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Elm Street Church of God with Elder Alexander Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens. The remains will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
