Obituary of Mrs. -Frances-Louise Carter

TALLADEGA - Funeral services for Frances Louise Powell Carter, 68, were Monday, Aug. 17, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. Horace Patterson, Pastor. The Rev. Laura J. Harris officiated. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Talladega. Mrs. Carter died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center. She was educated in the Talladega City School System and was a member and usher at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by father, Edward Powell; mother, Pearlie Hawkins; one daughter, two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. Survivors are sons, William (Shirley) Powell, Richard Carter both of Talladega, Willie (Dameata) Carter Jr. of Birmingham, Charles (Maschell) Carter of Shelbyville, KY; daughters, Connie Cunningham of Bronx, NY, and Patricia Carter of Talladega; brothers, Albert Powell, Horace (Rose) Hawkins both of Talladega, Marshall (Vivian) Hawkins of Birmingham, Ronald (Marian) Hawkins of Talladega; sisters, Mary (Lorenza Christian) Green, Abigail Hawkins both of Talladega, Doris Hawkins of Anniston, Fatina (Jacques) Mosley of Marietta, GA; and nine grandchildren. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary directed the services.
