NEWARK - Dorothy W. Hubbard, 93, died Wednesday (October 19, 2011) at the Pines of Peace in Ontario.Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday (October 23rd) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday (October 24th) at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Patricia Paige officiating. Burial will be in Cato Union Hill Cemetery.Memorials in her name may be made to Pines of Peace, 2378 Ridge Road, Ontario, New York 14519 or the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 301 East Miller Street, Newark, New York 14513.Mrs. Hubbard was born June 17, 1918, in Cato, the daughter of the late Clare and Jennie Wilkes Emerick. A graduate of a business school in Syracuse, she had worked for Jackson and Perkins in Newark. Dorothy was a typesetter and did clerical work for the Newark Courier Gazette. In her retirement, she did some bookkeeping and babysitting. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and helped in their free lunch program. Dorothy was a collector and refinisher of antiques. She enjoyed quilting and rug hooking and she had a special in interest and love of flower gardening.She is survived by three sons James (Carolyn) of East Williamson, John (Susan) of Gwinn, MI. and Jerry (Joan) of Chandler, AZ.; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
