NEVILS, Ga. -- Mrs. Doris Kicklighter Davis, age 82, of Nevils, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice after an extended illness. She was born in Bulloch County to the late William N. and Abbie B. Kicklighter (stepmother, Ina B. Kicklighter). She was educated in the Chatham and Bulloch County school systems. She worked at several businesses in the Statesboro area, retiring from Frontier Communications after 20 years of service. She was married to A.L. Davis for 38 years, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1986. A wonderful cook, Mrs. Davis loved to prepare Sunday dinners for her family as long as her health allowed. She always put the needs and wants of others before her own.Surviving are her two children: son, Lon Davis, and his wife, Sherry, of Nevils; daughter, Kathy Anderson, and her husband, Ray, also of Nevils; grandchildren, Adam and Joshua Davis of Nevils, Sara Martin and husband, David, of Nevils, and Lee Deloach of Pooler; and great-grandchildren, Kyler and Jacob Martin of Nevils. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Visitation will be Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson with Elder Randy Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Deloach's Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.The Davis family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O.
