Obituary of Mr. -William-Eugene Bryant


OHATCHEE - Funeral service for Mr. William Eugene "Billy" Bryant, 75, of Ohatchee, will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Wayne Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. Mr. Bryant died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at his residence. Survivors include one daughter, Debra Hardey and husband Gary of Anniston; four grandchildren, Mark Cobb and wife Kasey, Deric Cobb, B.J. Hardey, and Ronnie Hardey; six great-grandchildren, LaShea Cobb Williamson, Blake Cobb, Kalli Cobb, Kaelin Cobb, Amber Carter, and Makenzie Hardey; a brother and sister-in-law, Burl and Pat Heath; and there was a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bryant is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Bryant; a daughter, Connie Bryant; a son, Steve Bryant; and two brothers, John Bryant and Malcolm Bryant. Pallbearers will be some of his close friends. Mr. Bryant was a native and resident of Calhoun County, where he was a Mason and Home Builder for over 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a big supporter of Ohatchee High School and Auburn University. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and doctors that cared for our dad during his illness and especially Dr. Kamren and Dr. Dalton.
