Bruce Lee Coley, aged 65, passed away Wednesday morning while fishing in Kissimmee River in Okeechobee Florida. Bruce was born in Alabama on August 3, 1944 and lived in Bremen Ga. until 1993; he then moved to Savannah Georgia and married Virginia Bowers on June 23, 1984. He was a roofing contractor, worked with his wife as stump busters, along with being self employed owner operators and had rental property in Pooler, Ga. He retired in 1994 and he and his wife began to travel in their motor home. They lived on the road for eight years and made it to 43 different states. After traveling he made his home in Okeechobee Florida on the Kissimmee River. He loved to fish, travel, and garden in his yard. He passed away happily while fishing. Bruce was a member of the Church of God. He is preceded in death by his father Nathan Jack Coley Breman Ga.; and stepson Billy D. Bowers Jr. He is survived by his mother, Mamie Gertrude Martin Coley; wife of twenty five years, Virginia Johnson Bowers Coley of Okeechobee Fla.; three sons, Bruce Scott Carlton Coley of Savannah Ga., Patricia Shane Coley of Jacksonville Fla., Bruce Lee Coley Jr. of Newman Ga.; A stepdaughter, Linda K. Bowers Bradanick of Guyton, Ga.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; son and daughter in laws of Metter, Ga.; niece Diane Chandler; nephew Rick Copeland and family of Breman, Ga. Arrangements are being handled by Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Brother Toby Skrine will be speaking. Viewing will be held on Wednesday March 3, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel, followed by Funeral Services.
