Minnie Lee Smith Minnie Lee Smith, 72, of Bridgeton, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at South Jersey Healthcare-Regional Medical Center, in Vineland. Born in Augusta, Ga., she had been an area resident for 57 years. She was the daughter of the late John and Vera Heggs. She was the wife of Purman S. Smith Sr. of Bridgeton. She was a member of the Church Of God In Christ In Fairton, where she was a mother and deaconess. In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons, William, Alfonso, and Herman Heggs (Nikiya) of Bridgeton; four daughters, Roberta Heggs (Walter) of Bridgeton, Minn., Viola Heggs of Vineland, Rosalind Scott (Herman) of Sewell, NJ, Yvonne Jones (Donald) of Bridgeton; three sisters, Rosa Mae Underwood of Columbia, S.C., Willie Mae Williams of Hollywood, Fla., Juanita Williams of Providence, R.I.; 17 grandchildren; Monda, Joseph, Rysheen, Lakeia, Shatia, Shanell, Anasia, Alfonso Jr., Vanesha, Donald, Doniqua, DavonteÕ, Mya, Jousha, Raymond, Tyanna, Nate; one great-grandchld, Alicion; stepchildren; Barbara Ann Kates, Purman S. Smith Jr., Larcenia Smith, Jacquetta Long, Alfonso Smith, Harvey Smith, Purman Jones, Denise Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she is also predeceased by 3 sons; Eddie, Harvey A., and Nathaniel Smith; a granddaughter, AÕaliah Scott; a son-in-law Alexander Kates Sr.; a sister in-law, Daisy Smith; two sisters; and seven brothers. Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2, at noon in the New Life World Outreach Ministries, Bluebird Lane, Millville. Interment Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Township. Family and friends will be received Tuesday at the church between 11 a.m. and noon. Life celebration services are under the supervision of StanleyÕs Memorial Chapel, Camden, N.J.
