Mildred Hoxit Williams, 78, of 202 Overcreek Drive, wife of the late George Furman Williams, died Sunday, April 14, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Garland Ferguson and Lula Ann Jones Hoxit, Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, where she belonged to Saints Alive. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, George F. and Susan Williams of Anderson; two daughters, Becky W. Smith and her husband Drew of Greenville and Cynthia W. McQueen of Easley; a sister, Edna H. Lesley of Easley; three grandchildren, Kathryn Ilene Williams and Christopher George Williams, both of Anderson and Claire Williams Kriese of Clemson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Williams was predeceased by two brothers, Truman Jones Hoxit and William Earl Hoxit. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Miles and Vicar Jason Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, in the Fellowship Hall of the Church. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, Easley, and will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2617 Augusta Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
