CHILDERSBURG - Funeral service for Mildred Marie Vanzant Wood, 75, will be Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville Cemetery. Mrs. Wood died Friday, June 13, 2014, at her residence.She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. T.W. Wood; parents, J.P. and Ida Lee Vanzant; and great-granddaughter, Nora Wood. She was a long-time Christian woman who attended Abundant Grace Church and spent her entire life serving God and Jesus Christ and was a prayer warrior for many.She is survived by her son, Wayne Wood and wife, Susie, of North Carolina; daughters, Torey Williams and husband, Mark, of Fayetteville and Brenda Wyatt and husband, Kenneth, of Fayetteville; brother, James Vanzant and wife, Charlotte, of Sylacauga; sisters, Terry Parker and husband, Don, of Fruithurst, AL and Brenda Isbell and husband, Roger, of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Mandi Ragland, Cassidy Wood, Jacob Williams and Latisha Brasher; and eight great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Saturday June 14, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Pallbearers will be Daford Grimes, Steve Mintz, Gary Plyier, Jamey Pardue, Kelley Pardue, Joey Vanzant, Jerry Nix and Scott Williams.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the services.
