Mildred Louise Lucas (nee Prewett) on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Age 83. Wife of 43 years to the late George Lucas. Mother of Bruce Kidd, Glenn (Lyla) Lucas, and Janice Lucas. Grandmother of Shena Lucas Seppenin; Bruce Kidd, II; Steven Beamer, Naomi Gilch, and Tabitha Haeser. Sister of Patricia Kane and 6 other predeceased siblings. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mildred was a resident of Malaga for 50 years before moving to Mater Dei nursing home in Newfield for 7 years and most recently in the Kennedy Health Care Center in Washington Township for the past 7 months. She was a graduate of Bartram High School in Philadelphia and earned her Certification for Cafeteria Management from Gloucester County College. Mildred retired in 2004 as Cafeteria Manager after 30 years with Delsea High School, a job which she loved dearly. She was a former member of the Franklin Township Historical Society and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and playing bingo. Together with her husband, they had a small farm where they raised many different vegetables along with horses, chickens, and homing pigeons. She was very much a cat lover. Mildred loved her children and cared for them well living a simple and happy life. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11:30 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 49 W. North Street, Clayton. Interment Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton.
