Mildred Joannides Byrd, 89, passed away Friday, July 29, 2005, at Riverwood Healthcare Center, in Jacksonville.Mrs. Byrd, a retired LPN, was predeceased by her husband, Graham Byrd, and her son, Alonzo Purdom. She is survived by her son, Graham Buddy (Joann) Byrd; sisters, Mary Joannides Geer Boyd and Joann Joannides (Dub) Russ; and beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.Mrs. Byrd was a member of Palm Valley Baptist Church, where Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Palatka, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Community Hospice of N.E. Florida, 4114 Sumbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 or to the Alzheimer Association of N.E.
