POLK CITY -- Mrs. Mildred Katherine Harris of Polk City died of heart failure Tuesday (Oct. 8, 2002) at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 79.Born in Clendenin, W.Va., on Dec. 23, 1922, she came to Polk City from West Virginia in 1970. She was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Methodist church in Clendenin.Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. "Bud" Harris. She is survived by her sons, Frederick Harris, Clendenin, Daniel "Danny" Harris, Polk City; daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Duggan, St. Augustine; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Auburndale Memorial Park.The family requests that no flowers be sent.
