Mildred B. Byrd SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mildred Brown Byrd, 96, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Oakmont of Union. Born January 27, 1911, in Pacolet, SC, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Margaret Gault Brown and the wife of the late Harry Byrd. She was a longtime employee of the Aug. W. Smith Company and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Survivors include two great-nieces, Theresa G. Kennedy and Maria Y. Greene, and a great-great-nephew, Arthur J. Kennedy, III, all of North Charleston. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Brown Greene. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 28, 2007, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. David B. Smith and the Rev. David E. Nichols.
