SALAMANCA - Michelle Smith, 50, of 44 Liberty St., Salamanca, died Tuesday (April 23, 2013) at her home, surrounded by family and friends.Born on Nov. 9, 1962, in Oneonta, she was a daughter of Hyler and Dorothy Preston Gray of Salamanca. She was married in 1987 to Mr. Curt Smith, who survives.Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Salamanca High School's class of 1980 and attended Del High Technical School, majoring in hotel and restaurant management. She was previously employed at Elkdale Country Club, was manager of the former Leaskey Liquor Store and had worked at CentralLanes.She was a board member of the Women's Bowling Association for several years and was a member of the Holy Cross Athletic Club.Surviving besides her husband and parents are three daughters, Elizabeth (Benjamin) Starr of Salamanca, Melissa Smith of Salamanca and Brittany (Joshua McDowell) Smith of Salamanca; four grandchildren, Lily Starr, Curtis Starr, Romolla McDowell and Sage McDowell, all of Salamanca; a sister, Heidi LaCroix of Kill Buck; and several nieces and nephews, including Nicholas LaCroix and Jessica LaCroix.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (April 27, 2013) in the funeral home with the Rev.
