OAKLAND - Michael R. Morin, 59, of Oakland, passed away in Skowhegan, Monday morning Oct. 28, 2013 in a tragic logging truck accident. He was born Nov. 19, 1953, in St. Prosper Dorchester, Quebec, the son of Lionel and Lucille (Morin) Morin.He lived in St. Prosper until the age of 3, then moved to the United States, where he and his family made their home in Skowhegan ,then, later, permanently on Autumn Street in Waterville. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1972 and went to work part time after school at Levin's men's store, where he learned how to tailor men's pants, which he was very proud to do; he loved sewing. He then worked in the state of Maryland for several years in construction before returning to Maine as a paper mill hand, but his love for the outdoors grew so he started his own firewood business. That changed to logging. There, he was in his glory. Mike was a good man. He loved to cut wood and he loved to haul wood and he loved to work with people in the woods. He was a true woodsman, a true lumberman. He was very well known for his logging business throughout Maine.Mike's love for his dog, Jabez, meant they were not to be separated and they went everywhere possible together. He loved all outdoor activity, jogging, hunting, fishing with his good friend David Simpson, and he always loved a good laugh with all his friends. He was so easy to talk to and talk with. He will be greatly missed by all his friends, family and, we are sure, his many business associates.He is survived by his mother, Lucille (Morin) Morin, of Waterville; a brother, Francis Morin, and wife Sonja of Fairfield; a special niece, Kathy A.
