ROCHESTER ; Michael J. Murtagh III, 55, of Rochester and Newfield, Maine, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, a result of a motor vehicle accident.Michael was born in Peabody, Mass., on Oct. 8, 1952, the son of Michael J. and Lilian (Pinault) Murtagh Jr., and had lived most of his life in Rochester. He was currently employed as a supervisor for Measured Progress. He enjoyed reading, bird watching, music, cooking and enjoyed spending time with Rosemary, nature watching at his Newfield, Maine home.Surviving members of the family include, his fiancee, Rosemary MacDonald of Newfield, Maine; his mother, Lilian Murtagh of Rochester; one daughter, Caitlin Murtagh of Rochester; four sisters, Maureen Turgeon and her husband, Roger, of Bradford, Mass., Diane Wright and her husband, Geary, of Camphill, Pa., Patricia Murtagh of Dover, and Kathleen Murtagh of Arlington, Mass.; two brothers, Thomas Murtagh and his wife, Tammy, of Rochester, and William Murtagh and his partner in life, Jodie Rodgers, of New Durham, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester, on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Holy Rosary Church in Rochester with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the SHARE Fund, 189 North Main St., Rochester.
