MAKALA, Michael John II, 16, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, following and automobile accident. Born October 4, 1987, in St Petersburg, Fla. he was a member of Green Pond Baptist Church, Bible Baptist Church and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a student at Lake Gibson High School. He is survived by his father, Michael Makala I of Polk City, Fla.; his stepmother, Priscilla Makala of Polk City; his mother, Julie Toerpe of St. Petersburg; his stepfather, Dennis Toerpe of St. Petersburg; his grandparents, Edward Gagnon, Betty Sunter, James Sunter, Nana' Ciccarello and Nanu Ferlita; sisters, Amanda Tyler of Tampa, Desire'e Toerpe of Ocala, Fla., and Nikki Gonzalez of Polk City, Fla.; and brothers, Ricky Gonzalez of Tampa, and Justin Toerpe and Ainsley Toerpe both of Ocala. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Green Pond Baptist Church with the funeral service immediately following the visitation.
