<!-- FH = BLOUNT, CURRY & ROEL FUNERAL -->MACOLA, Michael III, 74, of Tampa, died March 15, 2011, after a long battle with Pro-gressive Supra Nuclear Palsy, which is a rare type of Parkin-sons. He passed into Heaven at home in his sleep in the arms of his loved ones. He will be missed dearly but are happy that he is no longer in pain. He was born in Pottsville, Pa. He met his wife, Luise, in Germany when he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served his country for 22 years and retired as a senior master sergeant. They moved to Rantoul, Ill., first working at Pioneer Furniture, then purchased a shoe store named the Shoe Corral. In 1987, he sold the business and moved to Tampa. At age 50 he went back to school to learn computers. He worked for the City of Tampa as a computer specialist finally retiring for good in 2000. Michael had a great sense of humor and made friends easily. He was an avid tennis player until the age 70 and had a talent for growing roses. He loved music, the louder the better, he loved to dance, and was famously known for his odd mix of drinks being beer over ice and a screwdriver with two olives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl (Davis) and Michael Macola Jr.; and his sister, Pearl Schmauch. Survivors include his adored wife of 55 years, Luise Macola; his daughter, Michelle Macola; brother, Jack Macola; sister, JoyceAnn Macola; and six nieces and nephews, one being Sherry Hurka who was also his godchild. He now rests in heaven as a whole healthy man watching and protecting all who knew and loved him.
