MANCHESTER - Michael John Flanagan, 56, of Manchester, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at his residence after a sudden illness.He was born in Bangor, Maine, on July 16, 1956, the son of John L. and Marilyn Jean (Bryce) Flanagan. He graduated Manchester High School Central, Class of 1974 and had attended NHTI prior to earning his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maine at Orono in 1980.Most recently, he had worked as an electrical engineer with Analogic in Peabody, Mass., for many years.Michael loved to fish, hunt, take photos, and spend time with his dogs. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother and friend to all who knew him.Family members include his wife of 20 years, Karen (Hanna) Flanagan of Manchester; three children, Bean, Peggy Sue, and Annie Flanagan, all of Manchester; his mother of Concord; father-in-law Charles D. Hanna of Londonderry; one brother, Sean Flanagan and his fiancée Katie Walsh of Greenville, N.C.; one sister, Elizabeth Nadeau and her husband John of Bradford, Vt.; a brother-in-law, Sean Hanna and his wife Teresa Pionessa of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Jonne Blanchette and her husband Guy of Naples, Fla.; brother-in-law Paul Boutin of Newfane, Vt.; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.Visiting hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North Street, Manchester, will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Church, Auburn.
