Levy, Michael G. ROTTERDAM Michael G. Levy, 38, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 8, 2010. He was a resident of Rotterdam, N.Y. Michael was born on August 13, 1971 and was raised in Loudonville, N.Y. He was a graduate of Shaker High School, attended Franklin Pierce University and lived for a time in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Michael worked most of his life in the landscaping business and was in the process of starting a new business venture with his family. Michael was an avid bowler, skier, snowboarder and golfer. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard and home, and having a nice glass of scotch. He most of all loved spending time in Lake George, N.Y., boating and being surrounded by his family and friends. Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer "Jenny" Riitano Levy; his loving parents, Melvyn and Jeannie Albright Levy; his brother, David Levy (Jamie Donsbach); grandfather, Edward Wasserman (Polly) and aunt and uncle, Maxine Levy Koblenz (Herschel). He was the cherished son-in-law of Joseph and Deborah Riitano; and brother-in-law to Kate Riitano McLaughlin (Pete), Gina, Amanda, Joe and Josh Riitano. He was the doting uncle of nephews Tyden Levy and Wills McLaughlin. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Janet Wasserman and grandparents Charles and Lillian Levy. Michael was eagerly awaiting the birth of his daughter who is expected mid-June. Through his daughter, Michael's humor, intelligence and loving nature will endure. Her life and presence will be a source of comfort, peace and security for all those who knew and loved Michael. Calling hours will be held at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home located at 5216 Western Turnpike, Guilderland, N.Y. on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, N.Y.
