Michael F. Catalon III, 76, of Toms River, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Laurelton Village Care Center, Brick, N.J. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 8:45 a.m. from the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark, N.J., thence to St. Agnes R.C. Church, Clark, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 a.m. Cremation at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, N.J., is private. Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. To offer condolences, please visit www.Krowickigorny.com. Born in Newark, N.J., to Sue and Michael F. Catalon Jr., Mr. Catalon lived in Clark for 25 years and, most recently, Toms River, for the past 13 years. Mr. Catalon worked as an arson detective for the City of Newark Fire Department. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal during the Korean War era, from 1953 to 1956. After serving in the Marines, Mr. Catalon worked for the Newark Police Department for seven years, then as a fireman in Newark at Engine 14 for over 20 years. He was a member of the Clark Volunteer Fire Department, the American Legion of Clark Post 327, and Brick Post 348. He was the beloved father of Roxanne, Sueanne Catalon, and Michele Zirpoli and her husband, John, and loving Pop-Pop of grandson John Michael Zirpoli.
