Funeral services for Michael Edward Ferguson 57 were held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday March 18 2003 from the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home conducted by Rev. David Worley. Burial followed with Military Honors at the gravesite in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Mr. Ferguson died Saturday March 15 2003 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a native of Madison County and a graduate of South Side High School. Mr. Ferguson served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion and the A.A.R.P. He was a member of East Union Baptist Church and attended Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Ferguson formerly served as a policeman with the Jackson Police Department and a deputy sheriff with Madison County Sheriff's Department. He also owned operated Mike's Old Fashioned Bar-B-Que at Three Way. He was presently a truck driver with Sav-A-Lot Food Distribution. He was preceded in death by a sister Sandra Thomason. Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years Mrs. Betty Ferguson of Jackson; two daughters Renee and husband Johnny Clark and Angelia and husband Ricky Wilson all of Jackson; two sons Jonathan and wife Melinda Ferguson of Beech Bluff and Shane Ferguson of Pinson; his mother Kathleen Britt of Blue Goose; his father Edward Ferguson of Malesus; five sisters Paula Bridger and Judy Payton both of Jackson Amy Mathis Joyce Moss and Linda Thomason all of Blue Goose; two brothers Timmy Britt of Lexington TN and Donny Britt of Jackson; five grandchildren Katelyn Wilson Cody Clark Sam Ferguson Chris Ferguson and Ella Ferguson. Pallbearers who served were Bobby Shanklin Ricky House Steve Edwards Red Wilson Tommy Lloyd David Woolfork Mark Sessions and Lawrence Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Greene Ricky Carter and Terry Stone. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home 731-424-2424
