February 24, 2004 Michael Cusano, 80, of 124 Greenland Dr. in Syracuse, went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2004 after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Michael was born in Eastwood and attended Cathedral High School. Heearned his Bachelor of Science degree from Utica College in 1981. He was employed at General Electric for 35 years as a draftsman, retiring in 1985. Michael was a communicant of St. John The Baptist Church on Park St. where he was an usher as well as a member of the Holy Name Society, Nocturnal Adoration Society and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and archer. He enjoyed spending time with his family in the summer months in Galilee, RI. Michael served in the US Navy as a Torpedoman aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard. He made numerous spiritual retreats at the Christ the King Retreat House in Syracuse and St. Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, MA. Mike was also a member of the local 200 sports union. Mike, the loving husband of Jeanne (Ricamo) of 58 years, is also survived by: four sons, Michael, David (Cindy), Paul (Karen), and Gino (Virginia) all of Syracuse; two daughters, Lucy and Marybeth also of Syracuse; eight grandchildren, David, Christopher, Courtney, Marc, Michael, Matthew, Lauren and Dana; sisters, Lucy (Frank) Panzino of Camillus and Mary (Mike) Frenza of Syracuse; brother, Mark of California. Funeral services Friday 10 a.m. at FARONE & SON and 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Calling hours Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Christ the King Retreat House or St. John the Baptist Church Restoration Fund.
