Lengel III, MichaelMichael C. Lengel III, age 50, of Fairfield, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 7, 2012. Michael is survived by his parents, Michael C. Lengel, Jr and Constance Ryder Lengel; his beloved daughter, Alexandra Lengel of Westport; his dear friend and ex-wife, Barbara Lisi of Westport; a sister Allison Sanfilippo and her husband Jerry of San Diego, CA, and niece and nephew Nicole and Andrew Sanfilippo. Michael was a Fairfield town resident for most of his life. A graduate of Fairfield Prep, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Stanford University and later an MBA at the Amos Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College. Most recently, Michael founded the Strategic Services Practice firm, Buffalo Strategy Services where he was a Senior Vice President. He was founder and president of Autus Strategy Consulting and previously held executive positions at Peppers and Rogers Group, Monitor Group and the Michael Allen Company. A loving and devoted father, Michael's greatest pleasure was in watching his daughter grow into a mature young lady. He coached her in tennis, encouraged her love of music and beamed at each and every accomplishment. A fierce friend, he cultivated longtime friendships from around the world, and shared his passion of food and wine, never afraid to try the exotic. When not traveling to far-away destinations for business and pleasure, he immersed himself in books that wove tales of history and gave him a deeper world perspective. He loved the outdoors, a great game of golf with "the boys" and a day on the boat with friends and family. Michael was an active member of the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, Fairfield, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 13, 2012.
