VALDEZ, Michael Angelo II, 64, of Tampa, passed away July 6, 2009. A native of Man-hattan, N.Y., and a resident of Tampa since 1950, Michael was a beloved and devoted father, son, brother and friend, as well as leader of the Hair by Valdez family, serving the community since 1975. He has joined his beloved father, Michael Angelo Valdez I, mother Cecilia Valdez and youngest brother, Richard Anthony Valdez. He is survived by his son, Michael Angelo Valdez III, his brother, Alexander G. Valdez, and his wife, Linda C. Valdez, niece, Alexandria G. Valdez, brother, Scott Nieves, and niece, Richelle A. Valdez, as well as the remaining Valdez family members and friends. Michael was an artist in his craft, always striving for perfection. Music was another passion that guided Michael through life. His love for music, be it listening, teaching or as a musician, gave him a unique and calming perspective of life. Only his unconditional love and devotion to his family and friends surpassed these passions in life. Michael will be missed in so many ways by so many, but we have comfort knowing he now resides with our Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., and a memorial service to honor his life will take place at 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, at the chapel of JGR Funeral Home.
