WEEKS, Merry Louise (nee Snowden) - August 15, 1931 - July 20, 2011 Peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Viola Snowden. Loving mother to Terri-Lou, Peter, Tim and Lesley (Colin). Special mother to MerrieAnn and Barb. Caring grandmother to Danielle (Dean), Ariel (Alyssa), Tara, Branden, Bethany-Logan, Justin, Sheena, Ryan and Kyle. Proud great-grandmother to Jack, Logan, Aidan and Madisyn. Cherished sister of Helen Hackson (late Dave), Bill Snowden (Carol) and predeceased by Donna McNairn (Doug). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dearest and longtime friend to Joan Pirie, Keith Gunton and Nick Kohlmann. Merry's effort to change and help the world for children and their families took her to George Brown College where she graduated in 1977. Merry started her career as a Child Therapist at the West End Creche working with Autistic Children and then went on to retire in 1998 from the Etobicoke Children's Centre receiving a plaque which read "Champion of Children". Merry was a quiet champion of many causes and will be remembered by all that she touched by her caring, empathic and nonjudgmental support. A Celebration of Merry's Life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. with a memorial gathering at 1 p.m. at The Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga (Dixie Rd., 2 lights south of Eglinton Ave., 905-602-1580). In lieu of flowers, donations to a children's charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
