Meredith Jeanne (Brown) Dufault, of Wareham, MA died on September 22, 2011 surrounded by her family following a courageous eleven-month battle with lung cancer. The daughter of George and Jeanne (Penniman) Brown, she was raised in West Bridgewater, MA, graduating from West Bridgewater High School in 1967. She was a member of one of the first classes of Massasoit Community College. Truly a people person, Meredith spent her career in customer service and training, most recently with Specialty Catalog Corp. of West Bridgewater, MA. A devoted mother and grandmother, she was the family 'cruise director', organizing family events, vacations and holiday gatherings. Meredith loved to travel and to spend time with her three grandsons, spoiling them. The life of every party, she will be remembered for her generosity and for thinking of others. She always looked her best with her spiked hair, perfect make-up and colorful nails. She is survived by her significant other Robert Cronin of Wareham, her daughters Heather Dufault of Taunton, Sheli Charboneau and her husband Robert of Norton, and her grandchildren Steven Smith of Taunton and Zachary and Benjamin Charboneau of Norton. She was the sister of Nancy Sawyer and Patricia White both of Plymouth, Jackie Smith-Miller of Duxbury, Loretta Cliff of Lakeside, CA, David Brown and his wife Sally of Hamilton, OH and Janet Brown-Sederberg and her husband James of Bridgewater. She was also the sister of the late Sylvia Shorey. A funeral home service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater followed by a burial at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 26 from 4 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Meredith's memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Brookline, MA 02215.
