McLEAN Elva Lorraine Scott McLean died Thursday, November 11, 2004, at Crowne Heathcare in Montgomery, Alabama, where she had resided during her final years. Graveside services will be held in the Arlington Park Cemetery, 12 Noon Monday, November 15th, with Rev. Larry R. Weaver officiating. The Family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M., to 11:00 A.M. Monday at COREY-KERLIN Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Mrs. McLean was a homemaker and a faithful and devoted mother and grandmother. Her talents included sewing, cooking, letter-writing, and she delighted friends and family with her unique and clever witticisms in conversation. She was a long time member of Parkwood Baptist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School Class, Southside Garden Club, and while living in Savannah worked with the Girl Scouts as a troop leader.. Mrs. McLean grew up in Goshen, AL, and was the second child of Etta and James Scott. Her older brother, James Harold Scott, preceded her in death in July, 2003, in Ocala, FL. Her surviving sisters are Evelyn Millen of Jacksonville Beach, FL., and Marjorie Bailey of Huntsville, AL. She and Lewis Milton (Mac) McLean were married in Montgomery, AL. They remained married for forty two years, until his death in August 1979. Because of his work with the railroad, their lives led them through Troy and Dothan, AL., Rocky Mount, NC., Savannah, GA., and Jacksonville, FL., where she lived for forty years. Their surviving children are Lewis Milton (Pete) McLean and his wife Kay, of Birmingham, Linda McAbee and her husband Bill, of Montgomery, and Martha Ann Whitecotton of Orting, WA. Mrs. McLean had three granddaughters; Laura McAbee Thomson of Savannah, GA., Katherine McLean Taylor of Wetumpka, AL., and Amy McAbee Cummings of Austin, TX.; sixteen step-grandchildren, several great step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special appreciation to the wonderful people on 1-East at Crowne Healthcare, who cared for her in the last ye ars, and also the staff at Lanier Manor in Jacksonville, FL.
