Obituary of McCall-Mary Lou


McCALL Mary Lou McCall, age 86 of Jacksonville, FL passed away August 15, 2007. She was born June 30, 1921 in Quitman, GA, the daughter of Perry M. Conine and Ella Jane Ward Conine. She and her husband of 60 years, Dock F. McCall, spent many years in Suwannee and Hamilton Counties, and settled in Jacksonville in 1951. He died in 1997. Mary retired from Wesley Manor Nursing Home following 30+ years of dedicated service. She loved gardening and cooking, but her legacy was the love and care she gave to raising her family. In addition to her husband, Mary was also predeceased by her parents, her brother Arthur Conine, her sister Margaret Rosier, and her grandsons Donald Ray Smith, Jr., Michael Allan Smith, and Stanley J. Woehrmeyer. Surviving are her daughter Betty J. Woehrmeyer; her son Jimmy D. McCall; grandchildren Mary Todd (Mike), Renee King (David), and Jimmy McCall, Jr. (Malissa); her great grandchildren Dustyne, Michael, Kyle, Diane, Ashley, Christian, and Kaylee; her niece Marie Stewart (Lyle); also many other loving family members and friends including Juanita Causey. To her family, Mary will forever be a special lady with God as her “Rock.” Her love, compassion, empathy, devotion, nurturing, unselfishness, and stability taught her family how to weather the storms of life. Her door was forever open, and her hand extended to help and hold theirs. Mary's unforgettable laugh and smiles are engraved into the hearts of her family, and she will be the ever blooming rose in their hearts and minds. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband in the Sermon on the Mount at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Family members will greet friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com
