STEVENS, Ruth - Mrs. May Evelyn Ruth Stevens, age 81, of 480 Downie Street Stratford, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2008. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late James Drake and the former Lena Quast. Ruth lived in North Bay from 1957 - 2003 when she moved to Stratford. She was a Registered Nurse Practitioner for 20 years in North Bay. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in North Bay and Stratford and a member of Christ Church Anglican, North Bay, St. Pauls Anglican Church, Stratford. Loving mother of Bonita Thornton and husband Walter of Toronto. Predeceased by her dear son James Lorne (1997), her husband Del Stevens. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Adrienne (Simon Bishop), Sonya, Heather (Jeff Stone), Geoffrey, Elise and Krista and by her great-grandchildren Imogen and Elliott. Also survived by sister Anne Dembeck (Ernie Newfeld) of Toronto, Ruth will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by her sisters Edna Murray and Irene Millard. A Memorial Service will be held for Ruth at the W.G.YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 430 Huron St. Stratford, Ontario, on May 15, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Avondale Cemetery.
