Funeral service for Maxcell Diane Smith, 42, Sheridan Avenue, Daytona Beach, who died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at Hospice of Volusia, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Community Church of God in Christ, 359 Jefferson Street, with Superintendent Elder Earl Kelly, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Ararat Cemetery. Calling hours are today, (Friday, Jan. 13) from 5 p.m until 9 p.m. at Herbert Thompson Funeral Home, Daytona Beach. Maxcell Diane Smith, daughter of Mack Smith (deceased) and Nellie Smith, Daytona Beach, was born July 7,1963, in Ocala and moved to Daytona Beach in 1978 from Dunnellon. She attended Spruce Creek High School and Daytona Beach Community College. Maxcell leaves behind a daughter, Lana Lane; two sons, DeAndre Smith and Maurice Moore, both of Daytona Beach; four brothers, Fred Smith, Douglas Smith (Veronica),Ocala, Alfred Capers, Bushnell, Michael (Linda) Smith, Reddick; seven sisters, (2 preceded her in death, Marzella Capers and Mamie Capers), Maxine Smith Gaynes, Ocala, Donnie Scruggs, Valdosta, Ga., Alicia Smith, Jacqueline Smith, Barbara Smith, Antonette (Alan) Saint'vil, Daytona Beach; 11 nephews, Thaddeus Smith, Robert Smith, Ocala, Carlos Smith, Farris Smith,Vincent Mills, Allen Richardson, Salnave Guillume, Dominique Saint'vil, and Pierre Saint'vil, Daytona Beach, Omar and Ali Scruggs, Cincinnati, Ohio; 13 nieces, Tybee (Alphonso) Mcfarland, Yvonne (LeAnthony) West, Christeria Capers, Lisa Smith, Orlando, Linda Smith, Tanya Bethea, Brenda Smith, Ocala, Dorene Williams, Ft Myers, Sonja Scruggs, Valdosta Ga., Robyn Dorsey, Texas, Kiara Richardson, Nuquana Hamilton, Daytona Beach; aunt, Ruby Smith, Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Doris Keeley, Daytona Beach; brother-in-law, Willie Perry, Dunnellon; 33 great-nieces and nephews; a host of cousins and friends; favorite cousins, Jerome Smith, Atlanta, and Ron Smith, Dunnelon; best friend, Kathy Jackson, Dunnelon; and special friend, Curtis Jones, Daytona Beach.
