Maureen MorrisNovember 15, 1945 to June 2, 2014Maureen passed away this week from heart and kidney failure. She was a life-long teacher who inspired children and awoke in them a love of learning. She taught at many schools in the West Island, always at the elementary level. She would go on to leadership roles in the teachers' unions, serving at the local, provincial and national levels. She is survived by her husband Jeff Roberts and two children who loved her deeply, Charles (Mathilde), grandson Guillaume and Sarah (Jack). At her request there will be no funeral at this time, but rather a memorial service in the fall when the winds are crisp and the leaves change colour. Friends, family and colleagues are invited to share stories about Maureen's life and career. Donations can be made to an organization of your choice which helps children with special needs.
