Maudie Faye Johnson SALUDA, NC-- Maudie Faye Johnson, 79, of 672 Laurel Drive, Saluda, NC died Thursday, October 4, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC. Born in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Millie Wyatt Downey and was the widow of Willie B. Johnson who died in 1991. Maudie retired from General Electric in Flat Rock, NC, after 25 years of service. She was a member of Dana Methodist Church. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed fishing and camping. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Johnson and Cindi Ledbetter (Tommy) both of Saluda, NC; two grandsons, Scott Ledbetter (Heather) and Cody Ledbetter and fiancée Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kendall; one brother-in-law, Bob Johnson of Dana, NC; and sisters-in-law, Lois Ross of Saluda, NC; Evelyn Downey, Catherine Downey, Essie Downey and Ruth Downey, all of Inman, SC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC, with Rev. Curtis Pace officiating. Burial will be in Saluda City Cemetery, Saluda, NC. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday night in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC. At other times the family will be at the Don Mintz Cabin, Ozone Drive, Saluda, NC.
