Obituary of Mattie-Mae Graham


NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Ms. Mattie Mae Graham, 57, of Moton Road, entered into rest August 12, 2007 at her residence. Ms. Graham, a native of Edgefield County, received her education from W.E. Parker High School. She received a certificate from Mattie C. Hall Nursing Care Center as a nursing care specialist. Survivors include her husband, James Surry; two daughters, Mary Graham (John), Peggy Surry (William); two sons, Charles Graham (Dorene) and James Surry (Cheryl); her mother, Lucy Brown; two sisters, Diane Moore (Roger) and Jonnie Pollock (Horace); eight brothers, Willie Brown, Benjamin Brown (Brenda), James Brown, Horace Brown (Nickie), Douglas Brown (Chevet), Robert Brown, Carl Brown and Rev. Anthony Brown (Marilyn); 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 5 aunts, 5 uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Mary Graham, 507 Samuels Street or after 1 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Second Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Albert M. James officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Edgefield. G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, 614 West Avenue, North Augusta, S.C.
