TRENTON - Mattie M. Davis, 92, departed this life on August 27, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, N.J.She was born in Apalachicola, Fla. She was a Trenton resident for 62 years. She was educated in the Apalachicola Public School Systems and Mercer County Community College.She worked for Domestic Laundry, Medical Personnel Pool as a nursing assistant, and retired after 20 years from Mercer Street Friends Center. In addition, she held various sales products positions.She was a member of Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church; member of Lily of the Valley Chapter No. 22, Order of the Eastern Star.Predeceased in death by her husband, William C. Davis; parents, Fred and Rena Watkins Thompson; siblings, Daisy, Walter, Willie, Rufus, and Louis Thompson; Lila Mae Coston, Francis Wesley, and Josephine Forte; stepdaughter, Gertrude Davis; and step-grandson, Lester M. Jackson.She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Leroy McMillon; three daughters, Emma (Willie) Green, Dorothy Mae (Horace) Blackmon, and Debra Ann Davis; stepdaughter, Toni (Lester) Jackson; two sisters, Estella (Edward) Borders and Lucy Mae (Lamar) Foster; 12 grandchildren, Linda (Willie) Marlow, Letitia (Dennis) Emmanuel, Willie, Jr., Kenneth, Keith, Daryl, and Cherri Green; Anthony (Yolanda) Grover, Darlene, Horace, and Lela Blackmon and Deschela Davis; two step-grandchildren, April and William Davis; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephew and special friends.Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 11 a.m., at Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 66 Race Street, Trenton, NJ 08648. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton, N.J.Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home.
