Mattie Jean Nesbitt Cox, 70, of Muscle Shoals, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002. Visitation was Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, from 6 till 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Colbert Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Tom Whatley officiating.Mrs. Cox was a lifelong resident of Muscle Shoals and a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals. She was an exceptional caregiver for the elderly.Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Brewer of Muscle Shoals; one brother, Jesse Kirk Nesbitt Jr. of Killen; three grandchildren, James Capatch, Allison Brewer and Ashley Brewer, all of Muscle Shoals; and one special niece, Victoria Cooper of Sheffield.Pallbearers will be James Capatch, Mike Brewer, Ronald Nesbitt, Rod Nesbitt, Wesley Thompson, Boyce Nesbitt and Alton Smith.Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
