Funeral for Mary Widner Hughes, 88, of Decatur will be Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. A. Ray Lee and Dr. Vernon Blackburn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Center Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Hughes, who died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born March 30, 1917, in Somerville to Thomas Cleveland Widner and Ruby McElroy Widner. She was a charter member of Oak Park Baptist Church. Her husband, George H. Hughes, preceded her in death.Survivors include one daughter, Linda Sue Floyd and her husband, Kenneth, of Hartselle; two sisters, Billie Widner Tyler and Zula Widner King, both of Hartselle; two grandsons, John Floyd and his wife, Marsha, of Birmingham, and Michael Floyd and his wife, Lori, of Nolensville, Tenn.; and four great-grandsons, Harrison Floyd, Hampton Floyd, Benjamin Floyd and Joshua Floyd. Pallbearers will be Tommy Culver, Robert Gulley, Elliott Hughes, Archie King, John Walker and Billy Young.
