WHITE, Mary Catherine (nee Canning) "Mimi," 77, native and lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004. She was pre- deceased by her husband, Dr. John Edmund White Jr.; son, John E. White III; daughter, Suzanne Marie White; sister, Marie Rogers Farhart; and brother, Joe Canning Jr. Left to cherish her memory are daughters; Mary Catherine White, Julie Anne Parker and husband Jerry; brothers, John Canning, Stephen R. Rogers, Joe W. Rogers; grandchildren; Julia, Joseph and Jacqueline Parker, who were her inspiration and her life; daughter-in-law, Lisa White Payne, her son's widow, and her husband Gary; nephew, John Patrick Canning; niece, Tracy J. Rogers. Lovingly remembered by a large extended family, Mary Catherine was a loving mother who treasured her faith, family and friends, especially, Stella Flynn. Fr. Colman McGarril, T.O.R., who was her constant strength and support, was at her side as God received this beautiful spirit into his eternal heavenly kingdom. Mary Ca therine was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy; attended the University of Tampa and graduated from Marquette University as a Dental Hygienist; was a member of the Hillsborough County Dental Auxiliary; and Past President of the West Coast Hygienist Association. Mary Catherine was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she belonged to the Ladies Guild, Council of Catholic Women and where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mary Catherine was a member of the Alpha Delta Eta Sorority, Junior Women's Club, Tampa Women's Club, a charter member of the Krewe of Venus, Daughters of the American Revolution, Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, Tampa Yacht and County Club, and the Forty Niners. Mary Catherine was a devoted volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America and Faith Cafe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 27,2004 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 812 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. A Vigil Service will be held Monday eve ning at 6 p.m. at the Marsicano Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd. The family will receive their friends until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to Christ the King Catholic Church, Development Fund in her memory.
