Mary Virginia Gaudet, 77, of Lake Charles died at 6:15 AM Sunday February 6, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Gaudet was born in Newton County, Texas and has lived in the Lake Charles area since 1966. She was a 1944 graduate of Newton County High School. Mrs. Gaudet worked as a teller, secretary and a dental assistant. Mrs. Gaudet loved to sewing and crosstitch. She was a member of University United Methodist Church in Lake Charles. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years Mr. Johnny Howard Gaudet of Lake Charles, one son Johnny Howard Gaudet Jr., of Beaumont, TX, one daughter Clara "Missy" Jeffrey of Groves, TX, one sister Alyce Brown of St. Augustine, TX, one brother Wendell Howell Hall of St. Franceville, LA, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Gaudet. Her parents William and Clara Hall, two brothers Howell and Eugene Hall, one sister Willie B Samford, preceded Mrs. Gaudet in death. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM from Smith Funeral Home in Newton, TX. Burial will be in Newton County City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Monday at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin again at 8:00 until the time of services on Wednesday in Smith Funeral home in Newton, TX.
