Mary Virginia Smith, 78, Colbert County, died Thursday, March 6, 2003. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Colbert Memorial Gardens.Officiating will be the Rev. Steve McAlister and the Rev. Norman Rich.She is survived by her brother, Vernon Stone of Chicago, Ill.; son, Thomas Smith of Muscle Shoals; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Smith; grandchildren, Randy Smith, Daniel Smith, Henry Smith, Tammie Schultz, Mary Shelton, Stephanie Johnson, Thomas Smith Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Bo Vinson, Wes Emmons, Kenny Patton, Billy Holley, Pete Dennison and Gene Stewart.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Smith; and son, Frankie Smith.Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals and a homemaker. She was a resident of Muscle Shoals for 43 years.Colbert Memorial Chapel is directing.
