Mary VPitts BOYNTON BEACH, FL â€" Pitts, Mary V. (Carr), 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, in Florida with her family by her side. Born in Boston, she was raised in South Boston. Mrs. Pitts was a resident of Dorchester for over 30 years before moving to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1986. Mrs. Pitts worked for the Bank of Boston on Morrissey Blvd. in Dorchester for many years before moving to Florida. Mary lived her life as a mother, daughter and sister with love and grace. She is survived by her children, James and his wife Marion of Stoughton and Donald of FL. She was the grandmother of Shamus, Melanie, Brian, John and Kelly and the sister of Evelyn Culhane of Weymouth and James Carr of FL. She was predeceased by her two sons, John and William Pitts, her siblings Winifred Doherty, Margaret Moran and Joseph Carr and her parents Joseph and Mary Carr. A Funeral Mass will be held in the St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton on Friday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Omitted. Donations in Mary's name may be made to the Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Burial will be private.
