Obituary of Mary Tuttle

GREENFIELD, Mass. -- Mary E. Tuttle, 76, a lifelong resident of the Brattleboro, Vt., area, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the Poet Seat Nursing Home in Greenfield.She was born on Feb. 20, 1930, the daughter of Hardy and Edna (Leach) Young in Brattleboro.She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and family gatherings, as well as spending time with her family.She was married to Raymond Tuttle, who predeceased her in 1991. Mrs. Tuttle is survived by a son, Richard F. Tuttle and his wife Sharon of Dummerston, Vt.; a brother, Burt Young of Marlboro, Mass.; a sister, Laura Maynard of Essex Junction, Vt.; three grandchildren, Heather Poor, Richie Tuttle, Amanda Scudder; a great-grandson, Samuel Poor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to her husband she was predeceased by five siblings.Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Ker- Westerlund & Fleming Funeral Home in Brattleboro. Burial will follow at the Dummerston Center Cemetery next to her husband.Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.For those who wish, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Holton Home of Brattleboro.Arrangements are under the care of the KER-WESTERLUND & FLEMING FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St., Brattleboro.u
