MORRELL, Mary Theresa Age 92, of Elmira, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Mary was born April 26, 1915, in Fremont Center, NY, a daughter of Thomas and Hermina Gunther Schick. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years Eugene W. Morrell. Mary is survived by her children, with their spouses, Dianne M. and George Maloney of Elmira, William T. and Catherine Morrell of Elmira, and Marianne T. and Frank Dailey of Brockport, NY; grandchildren, Michael (Kara) Maloney of Elmira, Daniel (Susan) Maloney of Dallas, PA, Christine Maloney, Maria (fiancé Shaun Bennett) Maloney, Thomas (Laurie) Morrell, all of Elmira, Alise (Jonny) Sinclair of York, England, Joseph Morrell of Baltimore, MD, Christopher (Margaret) Dailey of Brockport, NY, and Patrick (Suzanne) Dailey of New Britain, PA; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Florence Hubert of Hankins, NY, with her children, Walter, Regina, Dorothy, Ruth, Louise, Thomas, John, James, Michael, David and Joan, with their families; nephew Michael (Carole) Morrell of Elmira. Mary was a homemaker devoted to her family. She was a great cook who loved hosting family gatherings. A gracious and fun loving lady, who would never speak ill of another person, Mary will be greatly missed by those who knew her. She was an avid bowler, gardener, and knitter. She would knit caps and booties for the newborns at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Mary was a prayerful person and a longtime active communicant of St. Charles Borromeo. She helped with counting the Sunday collections, worked bingo, and was a member of the Rosary & Altar Society. Mary was also a longtime member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Elmira Heights. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Donations in Mary's memory may be directed to St. Charles Borromeo Church, c/o Cluster Office, 304 Demarest Parkway, Elmira, NY 14905.
