MARY T. GALLAGHER PORTAGE, IN Mary T. Gallagher, age 89 of Portage, formerly of Gary and Tempe, AZ passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009. She was born on April 27, 1919 in Scranton, PA. Mary was married to her husband, John, for 44 years. She was a member of Nativity of Our Saviour Church, former member of Holy Angels Cathedral and St. Mark's Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gallagher, Sr.; son, Patrick Gallagher; grandsons: Brady and Patrick; sisters: Margaret Cleaves and Ann Henningfield; and brother, John McNicholas. Mary is survived by sons: John Jr., Terrance (Janet) of Crown Point, Kevin (Doris) of Chesterton, Mark (Maggie) of Ogden Dunes and Tim Gallagher of South Bend; daughters: Kathleen Gallagher of Schaumburg, IL, Theresa Riggs of Hebron, Marian (Alan) Jungerman of CA, Regina (Art) Wright of Portage and Cecily (David) Smith of Oregon; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Gloria Weston of Michigan City, IN and Frances McNicholas of Philadelphia; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland Street, Merrillville, IN. Prayer service 7:00 p.m. Monday. Mary will be taken DIRECTLY to Nativity Church on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. for visitation until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Kime officiating. Burial in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to V.N.A. Hospice in Valparaiso.
