Mary-Syble Hughes, born in 1929, spouse of George-W. Hughes, daughter of Perry and Nancy-Harper, mother of Florida, Randall and Ronnie, died on March 7, 2012 at 83 years old.
Mary Syble Hughes, 83, a resident of Lake City, Florida passed away March 7, 2012 at The Health Center, Lake City, Florida after an extended illness. Mrs. Hughes was a lifelong resident of Lake City and is the daughter of the late Perry and Nancy Harper Smith. She was employed with Gates and General Electric for over twenty-five years and retired in 1991. She is preceded in death by her husband George W. Hughes. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Lake City, Florida. Survivors include two sons: Ronnie (Debbie) Hughes and Randall Hughes both of Lake City, Florida. Two Sisters: Jubie Tyre, Tallahassee, Fl. and Ella Blanton, Lake City, Fl. One Brother: Randall "Bo" Smith, Lake City, Florida. Six grandchildren, Dede Hall, Iris Hall, Jason Hughes, Lisa Dicks, Wesley Beasley and Missy Hughes. Five great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with the Rev. James Roberts, officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. just prior to the service. Guerry Funeral Home 2659 SW.
